Get ready to celebrate SPRING by whipping up a batch of these darling Spring Flower Pot Cookies. Includes FREE printable template to make the flowers.
You know what they say…April showers bring May flowers! In my book I don’t know if there’s any better way to celebrate Spring than with a happy seasonal treat. When I pinned these darling cookies on Pinterest I knew that I HAD to make them for the ‘Make a Spring Treat’ idea on our Let’s Celebrate Spring Family Activity List. The girls and I had so much fun in the kitchen whipping up a batch. We made a few modifications to the original recipe and I’m so happy with how they turned out! If you can’t tell, I’m pretty excited to share this cute treat with you today. They are so adorable, ridiculously delicious, and perfect to make with kiddos. Ready to get started? Let’s make some Spring Flower Pot Cookies.
Here’s what you’ll need:
For the Cookies:
- Your Favorite Sugar Cookie Dough (This is our all time favorite recipe, but you could also use pre-made dough to keep it easy)
- Instant Chocolate Pudding
- Milk (for pudding)
- Oreos
- Cooking Spray
- Mini Muffin Pan
For the Flowers:
- Cardstock
- Flower Template (Free download below)
- Small Circle Punch
- Toothpicks
- Hot Glue Gun
These cookies are really super easy to make which makes this a great recipe to make with kiddos. We’ll get started by making the cookies. First of all, grab your muffin tin, spray it with cooking spray and set it aside. For the flower pots, you can either make your favorite sugar cookie dough recipe or use pre-made dough. Either way, roll your sugar cookie dough into small balls and place one ball in each cup of your mini muffin pan.
Next, use a measuring spoon (1/2 TSP works best!) to create a small indention into each ball of dough. Bake the cookies at 375 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Watch them carefully so they don’t burn. Remove the pan from the oven and let them cool completely.
While the cookie cups are cooling follow the instructions on the pudding box to make the pudding. You can also crush the Oreos at this time. A food processor works great for this, but if you don’t have one you can place a few Oreos in a plastic baggie and crush them with your hand.
Once cooled, carefully remove the cookies from the muffin pan. I found that using a knife to loosen the edges was very helpful. Fill each cup with chocolate pudding and then sprinkle crushed Oreos on top.
To make the flower toppers print the flower template (FREE download below) onto cardstock. Use scissors to cut around each flower.
Use a circle punch to punch out circles for the center of the flower. Then, use your hot glue gun to attach the flower, center circle, and leaf to a toothpick.

Tip: You can either make the flower toppers while the cookies are baking or make them ahead of time so they are all ready to go when you’re finished making the cookies.
Insert the assembled flower toppers into the chocolate part of the cookie pots. Before serving, transfer the Spring Flower Pot Cookies to a different tray or a cake stand.
