One thing I truly have loved about social media is being able to connect with other mamas around the world. I have met some of the sweetest and encouraging mamas out there! There is so much richness in learning from and connecting with other women who are in the same or similar season of life. Am I right?! I am SO excited to introduce you to Elizabeth, the amazing mama behind This Little Home of Mine. She is such a gem and full of wisdom and grace. I’ve loved getting to know her and I know you will too! Sweet friends, meet Elizabeth!
Where are you located? My husband and I are both transplants to North Carolina, but after being here for over ten years now, it definitely feels like home.
How many kids do you have and what are their ages? We have four kiddos! We have a five-year old, a three-year old, a one-year old, and an itty bitty baby set to arrive sometime around October 1st.
Sweet or Salty? Both! One of my favorite snacks involves pretzels AND chocolate! Ha!
Are you a night owl or early bird? Ahhh, I was born a night owl, but for some reason, God has given me a little batch of morning people to raise. Needless to say, this mama drinks a lot of coffee!
What is your fondest memory as a child? My parents were always there. It didn’t matter what it was – a sporting event, a piano recital, a fresh start at a new school, a broken heart – they were there for all of it.
What is your favorite way to spend at-home family night? We love to take after-dinner walks and then return home to play in the driveway! Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, all manner of riding toys – it’s all part of our evenings outside, and in those simple moments together, I feel so content.
What family tradition or routine is important to you? We really try to make mealtime a priority. There are times when it gets rushed…or when daddy isn’t able to be home for dinner as early as he would like…but we work hard to make sure mealtimes are honored and protected from screens.
What has surprised and stretched you the most about being a parent? It wasn’t until I became a mom that I realized how impatient I can be and how easily frustrated I can get – especially when I’m sleep deprived! This is something that I have consistently had to pray about, and when I allow God to fill in those areas where I am weak, He never fails to provide exactly what I’m lacking.
If you could give one piece of encouragement to a fellow mama in the trenches what would it be? Know that in every season our Father is rejoicing over you with singing and holding your children in the palm of His hand.
What is one thing you have you learned this year that has helped you in your current season of motherhood? Oh wow! This past year has been one of the most challenging I’ve ever faced, and what I have learned is that God is always faithful to gift His children with joy…even in situations where the future feels uncertain.
What is your favorite way to fill your mama tank? I love going on dates with my hubby! We have had seasons where we have struggled to find a way to get away for a date night, but when we are able to coordinate a dinner out – just the two of us – we have so much fun together.
Where can we follow along with you?

Isn’t Elizabeth the sweetest?! You’re definitely going to want to follow along with her blog—it’s one of my favorites. All of her ideas are SO helpful and totally doable! She also has an AMAZING e-book called Homeschooling Your Preschooler that is a must if you are even slightly interested in learning with your kiddos at home. I hope you enjoyed getting to know Elizabeth and were able to get an idea or two for connecting with your own kiddos in a meaningful way!
