The official start of Fall is almost here and I am overly excited for cooler weather, cozy drinks, and seasonal treats. While it can get really messy, I’m learning to love creating memories in the kitchen together as a family. Rather than just making the caramel apples ahead of time I thought it would be a fun idea to put all of the ingredients in a basket so we could enjoy making them together. I’m planning on setting the basket out again one day after rest time for an unexpected fall themed afternoon treat. I can’t wait to surprise the girls with a Caramel Apple Bar this Fall!
This Caramel Apple Bar in a Basket was really easy to put together and all of the toppings can be customized to your liking. There’s so many different yummy flavor combinations you can make just by changing out the toppings. I honestly can’t decide which combination is my favorite.
Supplies Needed to Make an Easy Caramel Apple Bar
- Your favorite type of Apples
- Caramel Sauce (This is our favorite super easy recipe)
- Small Mason Jar with Lid
- Basket
- Small Muffin Tin (or bowls to put ingredients in)
- Toppings (Crushed Peanuts, Mini M&M’s, Toffee Bits, Sprinkles, Mini Chocolate Chips, Granola)
While I really love traditional caramel apples, they can be a bit tricky for kids to eat so cutting up the apples and letting them dip and sprinkle on their own toppings makes this super kid-friendly and honestly way more fun.
How to Create an Easy Caramel Apple Bar
To get started you’ll need to cut the apples into slices.
Pour your caramel into a bowl and warm it up. You can either use store bought caramel or make your own. We have made this 4 ingredient recipe several times and it’s SO easy and delicious. Just be careful because you may want to lick the entire bowl. It’s that good.
I made the caramel ahead of time, poured it into a small mason jar, and used a hot glue gun to adhere the Salted Caramel Label to the jar lid. If you want to dress up your jars, you can download the FREE printable below.
Pour your toppings into a small muffin tin. You could also use small bowls, but I love how the muffin tin keeps all of the ingredients separated and also makes for super easy clean up.
Dip. Sprinkle. & Enjoy! I adore how perfect these are for little hands and how portable this treat is. Wouldn’t it be so fun to take this caramel apple bar to your backyard, front porch, or even a nearby park? I’ll take one of each, please!
