With the arrival of Spring we have been loving longer nights, seasonal crafts and spending way more time outside (hallelujah!). Can you believe that Easter is almost here?! Well believe it sister, cause it’s coming!😉 As my girls get older my hope is to be more purposeful in keeping our eyes focused on the real meaning behind holidays. Don’t get me wrong, I seriously love the cute chick crafts, bunnies and cheerful pastels that are floating around Pinterest, but with the hope to celebrate our days more intentionally I’m trying to not get lost in the noise of it all and totally miss the true meaning behind Easter. The struggle is real.
This is why I absolutely LOVE everything about The Story Egg. You may remember when I shared how we used The Christmas Star From Afar this past year to help create a simple, meaningful, Jesus full Advent. It was a game changer for our family and I was so beyond excited when I heard that Natalie (the mama behind Star From Afar Kids) created an amazing tool to celebrate the true meaning of Easter. We’ve already fallen in love with The Story Egg™ and I think you’ll see why it’s quickly become our favorite tool to teach kids the true meaning of Easter.
I really love how The Story Egg™ puts a unique spin on traditional Easter eggs. It includes a set of 7 gorgeously crafted wooden nesting eggs and a beautiful hard cover book that teaches the significance of each day of Holy week in a way that kids can easily understand.
Each day your kiddo gets to open up the next nesting egg and walk through the Easter story with the included book. B was instantly obsessed with the heart egg. That girl has a thing with pink.
The Story Egg™ book starts on Palm Sunday, walks through the story that relates to the particular day in Holy Week and ends with an empty egg (just like the empty tomb) on Easter Sunday. I love the hands and visual reminders of that!
The book has simple illustrations that coordinate with each egg. B loved matching the nesting egg she was holding to the pages in the book!
I could go on and on about how much I love this tool and I’m so thrilled for it to become a new tradition in our home. Isn’t the simplicity of it amazing?! Mamas need simple and The Story Egg™ is just that— uncomplicated, yet full of purpose and hands on learning about the true meaning of Easter.

I love these! Last year we got my three year old something similar (a carton of plastic eggs that you open each day twelve days before Easter to reveal a figurine and read a corresponding story with it). It was a little over her head in some ways. I love how this has a simple book to go along with it, not to mention they are nesting eggs! My girls love nesting eggs! I will definitely be looking into this! Thank you!
PS I purposely look for some more intentional crafts this time of year as well, so we have the cute keepsake and my girls can learn something as well.
