Ready to get crystal clear on what a life-giving home looks like for your family?

In the spirit of celebrating all things LOVE we’ve enjoyed creating space for lots of heart themed snacks, activities and play. It’s been so fun to celebrate and play with you this month. In doing several of the things we love I’ve had this thought. As mamas, why is it that we spend so much time doing things that we don’t truly love? Maybe it’s because we feel obligated, that we can’t say no or maybe it’s that our schedules are so jam packed it’s hard to create space. Whatever the reason, this year I’m trying to spend more time doing the things that fire up my heart and less time on the things that drain me. Join me? In spending time writing down the things that fire me up I found that my heart comes alive when I’m surprising my kiddos with fun activities to celebrate the everyday and that moments that I spend time whipping up some delicious treats in the kitchen. This scavenger hunt is the marriage of those two things and I can’t wait to share it with you! There’s even free printable clues at the end so you can create your own hunt for your little lovebug. Our hunt began with a surprise bag on the coffee table…

I printed our clues on regular printer paper and cut around the rectangles. The free download includes two different colors of the design so you have options. I tried to make this as easy as possible for you by including where you should hide the clues to the right of the design. Yay for simplicity!

*TIP: When cutting out your clues leave the clue placement guide on the right side of the tag. You can use scissors to cut them off as you place the clues around your house, but they make it so simple to place the clues in the correct location.

I mentioned earlier that our scavenger hunt included a fun treat at the end so I’ve included the treat bag toppers for that, but it’s an equally as fun activity without it! If you do choose to use the treat bag toppers, you could fill them up with little treats, stickers, trinkets, ingredients to make a special treat, or supplies to make a craft together. Place each bag with a clue and have your child collect them as they go through the Scavenger Hunt. Alternatively, you could have one bag at the very end with the last clue. So many options!

We followed the clues…

They led up stairs and through crepe paper walls.

We had to look low, high and around the halls.

The final clue led us to the kitchen where B unpacked all of her goodies to make chocolate covered strawberries.

To make this little sous chef friendly we washed & cut the tops of the strawberries off and attached lollipop sticks for easy dipping.

We used Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate (a favorite around here!) and Pink Candy Melts and then gave them a little (or a lot on B’s strawberries. Ha!) pink sprinkle love.

We maaaaaayyyy have had a few licks of chocolate in the process. But isn’t that part of the fun of whipping up something delicious in the kitchen?

I’m pretty sure scavenger hunts and chocolate covered strawberries are made for each other. I don’t know if it’s because we were so hungry from running around the house or if the strawberries were extra tasty but these sure didn’t last long.
