Happy Friday, friends! Today is an exciting day because not only is it almost the weekend, but tonight is the Opening Ceremony for the summer Olympics. Any other Olympic fanatics out there?! Growing up I always loved watching the Olympics and I can’t wait to pass down that excitement to our kiddos. With that being said, we have been busy making Olympic themed crafts and activities this week. Today we are working on making our Passport to the Olympics and I’m sharing the freebie below so you can make one of your own!
I wanted to create a fun activity that we could use throughout the games to help B understand what exactly the Olympics are. Turns out explaining the games to a two year old is trickier than I thought. Enter the Passport to the Olympics; A perfect way to explore each of the events involved in the summer games. I’ve included the most popular events so hopefully all of the events that you will be watching are included.
I’m hoping that as we watch each event in the Olympics, B can find the event in her passport and color the name and picture that represents the event and then place a sticker in the open square as we ‘visit’ each event. There’s even a spot to put a photo of your little one just like in a real passport.
To assemble, all you need are scissors, glue, and card stock (if you want to make the cover a bit more durable). Happy Opening Ceremony Day! I hope you have a fun time watching the Olympics with your little ones.
Hooray! I hope you and your little(s) enjoy some festive Olympics fun. Tag your photos with #thelittlesandme. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
