Mama Behind the Squares: The Mama Workshop

I am so thrilled to introduce you to this sweet mama. You know those people that just instantly light up a room? Well, friends! That’s Ludavia, the amazing mama behind The Mama Workshop. She’s seriously one of the most inspirational mamas out there. Whenever she shares something on Instagram I feel so encouraged and inspired to take small steps each day to be more intentional in taking care of myself so that I can pour out and be engaged with my girls. Her joy for life is contagious and her passion for mamas is truly amazing. Meet the Mama Behind the Squares, Ludavia!

Where are you located? California

How many kids do you have and what are their ages? 2 kiddos. A son age 3 and a daughter age 1.

Sweet or Salty? Both.

Are you a night owl or early bird? Early bird. I love the quiet, which is hard to get with kids. So, early bird it is! I love hearing the birds sing in the morning while I sip some tea.

What is your fondest memory as a child? Climbing trees. It made me feel adventurous.

What is your favorite way to spend at-home family night? Playing a game. No TV. Just us being silly.

What family tradition or routine is important to you? We’re just beginning our traditions. But, Saturday Morning Special Breakfast is my favorite right now. We all pitch in and make something we normally don’t have during the week.

What has surprised and stretched you the most about being a parent? Having a mom voice. You know that saying, “when I open my mouth my mother comes out!” You never think it’s going to happen to you. But, it does. And that mom voice has stretched me because I have to aim for a controlled mom voice. It’s easy to lose a temper. It’s easy to make mistakes. So, I have to be aware of what’s coming out of my mouth.

If you could give one piece of encouragement to a fellow mama in the trenches what would it be? Ask for grace often. Surround yourself with all things lovely. Soak it all in. Absorb it until it overflows.

What is one thing you have you learned this year that has helped you in your current season of motherhood? Grace. Knowing that God’s grace is new each morning is so comforting. I mess up often. But, I get to give up the stress, worry, tears or whatever all to Him and start fresh.

What is your favorite way to fill your mama tank? Getting up before everyone and filling myself up with a devotion, prayer and worship. I fill my heart with love, so then I can pour out that love onto my kiddos. Plus, hugs, snuggles and kisses from my kiddos fill my mama tank! Those are simply the best. I cherish those!
