Farmer’s Market Flashcards

Camp Littles & Me is in full swing and it has been such a joy to see so many of you joining us as we celebrate our favorite things about summer. It’s not too late to join in on the fun. We’ll be celebrating all summer long! I’m thrilled to share that in true camp fashion, each week one Camp Counselor (aka a really awesome mama) will be sharing a craft, snack, or activity that pairs with the weekly theme. So fun, right?! Camp just wouldn’t be complete without these rockstars! I’m so excited to introduce you to this weeks Camp Counselor, Danielle. She’s sharing the cutest Farmer’s Market Flashcards that your kids are going to love.

Hi friends! Danielle here from Mama Life Inspiration. My family absolutely loves the Farmer’s Market! It is the perfect activity to get out and about while supporting local businesses, not to mention there are always so many unique items. One of our favorite things to do at the Farmer’s Market is to get our produce from a local farmer. They work so hard day in and day out to provide the best produce and we love to support them. The highlight for my son is to help choose the items. In the process of choosing the items he is using several skills and learning so much- it’s a win-win! 

We are in the process of learning to count and making great progress. Although we are making progress I have noticed my son counting a little something like this… 1,2,3,4,5,8,4. Can you relate?!? I decided to make number flash cards and thought it would be perfect to set up a Farmer’s Market. I put all of our pretend fruits and veggies on a “farmer stand” with the flashcards to do some learning through play. He had so much fun!

When I create a craft or learning resource I like to know that it can be used for more than one purpose. You can use your Farmer’s Market flashcards for a few different learning objectives:

•  Counting
•  Learning the names of fruits and vegetables
•  Categorizing fruits and vegetables
•  Imagination through pretend play
