Family Halloween Costumes Through the Years

Celebrate· DIY Projects· For Families· Halloween

Happy Halloween, friends! There’s definitely a buzz of excitement today in our house because little known fact…we really love dressing up. This will be the first year that we haven’t done a family costume (cue the tears), but life is so full right now that making costumes this year was something I simply had to let go. I’m still a little sad about it, but I know it was a wise decision so that the girls could actually enjoy Halloween and not have a stressed out crazy mama running around. I always get a bit nostalgic looking back at Halloween photos from when Bridgett was so tiny and seeing how our family has grown throughout the years. It’s amazing how fast time flies! In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I’d share our Family Halloween Costumes through the years.

Cinderella Family Halloween Costume

First up… Cinderella, her Fairy Godmother, and Prince Charming! This was Bridgett’s very first Halloween and also back when I had all the time in the world and made all of our costumes. Such a fun and special memory and definitely one of my favorite costume themes we have done.

Donut & Bakers Family Halloween Costume

Next, a Sprinkle Donut and Two Bakers. Little fun fact: We found out shortly after this Halloween that I was pregnant with Libby which was pretty adorable considering there was another little donut baking in the oven that we didn’t even know about quite yet.

Frozen Family Halloween Costume

The cold never bothered us anyway. Last year we showed our love for Frozen and dressed up as Elsa, Anna, Sven, and Olaf. Anyone that knows Bridgett was not surprised that this was the costume theme of choice. She sang Let it Go pretty much the entire night and you could not wipe off that smile from her face. I purchased Bridgett’s dress, but made the baby Anna dress as well as the Sven and Olaf costumes.

Libby’s face was just way too funny to not be included in this. Sweet baby girl!

DocMcStuffins & Lambie Halloween Costume

Last but certainly not least is this years costumes! DocMcStuffins and Lambie. Although, Bridgett has decided that she and Libby are going to be Mermaids tonight. Before you think I’m totally crazy with the two costumes thing…We purchased a Mermaid costume for Bridgett’s upcoming birthday present and she has gone back and forth on who she wants to be this entire month. We’ll see if it changes before we head out to trick or treat!

A few nights ago we went to a Trunk or Treat at a local church and the girls rocked their DocMcstuffins and Lambie costumes. I didn’t even realize it until I was putting this together, but we obviously are a Disney loving family.

It’s totally normal that I want Libby to wear this lamb costume forever and ever, right? Seriously so cute.

So there you have it…our Family Halloween Costumes through the years. The girls are counting down the hours until we go trick or treating tonight. I hope you have a BOO-tiful Halloween and enjoy soaking in the sweet memories with your family. Remember, sweet friend let’s not make tonight about getting the perfect photo or having it go exactly how we imagined it. Let it be about creating memories together, seeing your kids eyes light up as dress up in their costume, and of course doing your parental duty of eating some of their candy after they’re tucked into bed. Happy Halloween!
