We’ve been celebrating all we love about the beach this week with sand, seashells and beach toys galore. I’m so excited to introduce you to this weeks Camp Counselor, Laura. She’s sharing the most darling Backyard Beach Picnic! Your kids are going to love it.
Hello, my name is Laura Orlando from Celebrate In Detail. I am so excited to be part of Camp Littles & Me beach week! Summer is here and what a better way to celebrate than at the beach! My kids and I love the beach and we can’t always get there, so I wanted to bring the beach to my own backyard. I created a backyard beach style picnic for my kids! They just loved it and truly had a blast! Let me show you how!
First you will need a few beach inspired cookie cutters. I used a seashell, palm tree and fish cookie cutter. I wanted to use these cookie cutters as much as possible for the lunch. I made the kids peanut butter sandwiches and cut them into fish using the fish cookie cutter.
Next, I used the seashell and palm tree cookie cutter and cut up some cheese slices.
My kids love fruit so I cut up some watermelon using the cookie cutters!
I absolutely love to bake, so this was a great excuse to make sugar cookies. I decorated these adorable cookies with some delicious buttercream frosting.
I also thought it would be fun to add Goldfish Crackers and a few Swedish Fish to the lunch.
I wrapped each item in small clear bags and tied them with pretty yellow ribbon. I used my square mini bottles for the kids drinks and filled them each with some cold ice water. Then I tied on a colorful striped paper straw to each bottle.
Lastly, I used a few beach buckets I already had and filled them with the beach inspired lunch.
Next, we headed to the backyard with a huge beach towel and our buckets. The kids loved being outside and having a beach picnic lunch in our own backyard.
